Neuroscience lesson of the day!!

Hi!! (✿˵>ω<˵) Today we will be learning about something super duper important in neuroscience! You know how chemicals spread messages throughout the neuron?
Well, that would be possible without neurotransmitters!
Neurotransmitters are super duper important because they are responsible for carrying unique signals throughout the nervous system! A lot of the messages that your brain receives are from these seemingly unimportant dots!
And every single neurotransmitter comes with their own receptor! Which means every messenger has their listeners! Like a bestfriend who always talks to the other!
There are different types of neurotransmitters, but since we can't talk about all of them, I am going to give one example for every type!
♡ Adrenaline: Excitatory, AKA it makes neurons shoot out signals!
♡ Serotonin: Inhibitory, it stops neurons from shooting signals! It calms it down~٩(｡•́‿•̀｡)۶
♡ Dopamine: I bet you know this one! It controls how neurotransmitters communicate with each other!! Its called Modulatory neurotransmitters!
Neurotransmitters are cool, right? Yup! That's neuroscience for you!

What is neuroscience? (´｡• ᵕ •｡`) ♡

Neuroscience is the interdisciplinary (which means multiple topics) study which focuses on identifying the nervous system, its functions and its disorders
So basically, that means we learn about neurons, how they work and when they don't work properly! Yipee! ♡(｡- ω -)
But on a more specific level, neuroscience seeks to understand the underlying mechanisnms (as listed below)

• ♡ consciousness
• ♡ emotion
• ♡ behavior
• ♡ learning
• ♡ and other super cool things!!

Apparently its called the "EPIC CHALLENGE" of biology...huh!
(This is according the wikipedia, lol!! (￣ε￣＠))
I have always loved neuroscience, it was my entire childhood! Every single memory of mine is correlated with neuroscience in some way
(get it? Because the hippocampus is responsible for memory and that falls into the category of neuroscience? Teehee! (❤ω❤)
I don't know what I would do without neuroscience. Really! Its my bread and butter!
So hopefully I can find some neuroscience buddies so we can bond! Hehe~!
